Sweet Pink and Yellow Patchwork

Everynight for several weeks, when I would go to bed, I would have visions of a sweet pink and yellow patchwork apron. Needless to say. . . it had to be created. A trip to the local quilt shop and six fat quarters became my new favorite apron, complete with patchwork ties. I made the ties extra long, so it can be tied in the back or can wrap around to the front and tie. I am really pleased with how it turned out! Now - what to sew next. . .

Freestyle patchwork and embroidery denim purse

Well, it's been a while!! What with moving and all, I haven't had time to sew or blog. But I wanted to say "hi" and share this cool denim purse I made last summer from an old pair of overall shorts. I had a blast with all the patchwork and embroidery - I LOVE embellishing!
Sorry the pictures are a little blurry - but I think you get the idea. Try one yourself......it's fun!

A Tale of Two Aprons

I love making aprons and I have so many ideas in my head right now for new aprons, but with my sewing machine all packed up for the move my hands are tied.
For now.
So here are two I made last spring. The red one is a red/white batik. I had planned on using a yellow fabric for the trim, but decided that the black polka dot was the perfect accompaniment for the red.
The green stripe is a lovely Amy Butler fabric. (This one was really made for my husband, but I wear it too.) I had the fabric leftover from a small quilt I made from the directions in Amy's In Stitches book. My husband really liked the striped fabric, so I made him an apron. He's the cook at out house, so I figured he deserved a new one!

Glowy Goodness

Well, it's November now, and it's getting to be that time of year. . . I was looking through some pics from last year and came across this one and wanted to share it's glowy goodness! Have you started decorating yet? Or better yet have you started CREATING something for the holidays yet? So many things I'd like to make - a tree skirt, stockings, maybe a garland. I am wanting to hit the fabric shops. But we are in the midst of a move to a new home so all that is on the back burner for now. But I can dream about it. . .
