On my design wall . . .

This is what's on my design wall.  Which, by the way, is very high tech - wall space + big piece of felt + thumb tacks = design wall.

I have been having a blast making these liberated log cabins, practicing pinwheels for the next round of the ORBC quilt along, and making tiny four-patch blocks.  Some of these blocks have been hanging around in my sewing room for a long time.  Some are new.  I am (obviously) drawn to bright colors, and have been buying them for a few years now, so they all go together!

Now I have to decide if I want to put them together with or without sashing.  I can feel white sashing calling me, but I need to try a few options out first.  Especially now that I have a fancy-schmancy design wall.

Log Cabin at Home in the Dining Room

My little log cabin quilt is finished!  It is quilted (albeit very simply) and has been living on the table.  It goes well with the chairs and the bowl of apples - even though I didn't have that in mind when I made it.

You can see it better here - it's about 48 by 48 square.  This is the first quilt I have made all the way - doing the quilting and the binding.  It has a self-binding where you bring the back over the edge and sew it down.  I was pleased with the quilting I did by machine.  It's not alot, but I think it's OK for the first one I have done.  It's not perfect, but I am liking this little quilt!
